Not Getting A Home Inspection

Despite the fact that home inspections are widely recognized as beneficial to people buying Mississauga condominiums or Lincoln NE real estate, many are reluctant to undertake the cost of the home inspection. Sellers don't really see the point, as they will soon be offloading the property anyway. And buyers, well buyers are already looking at a significant outlay of cash, and anything beyond the expenses of the home purchase starts to look impossible to manage.

The fact is, home inspections are not that expensive, and they are relatively easy to cover. You can build them into the mortgage on your Lincoln or High Park Toronto real estate so that you forget about the fees and the money you paid for the inspection. On the other hand, saving that money may cost you a lot in the long run, both as a buyer and a seller. Let's consider a few points.

First of all, from the seller's point of view, did you know that you could be held legally liable if there are issues found with the home for sale in Georgetown Ontario that you actually sold a few years ago? Real estate transactions are supposed to be based in good faith, but as we all know that is a tricky concept in today's world. If a court feels that you should have known about something wrong with the property you sold, you may be liable for any expenses involved with fixing the problem, including damages done in the interim.

On the other hand, the buyer is the one who has to immediately foot the bill for clean up and repair which occurs due to an electrical fire, leaking ceiling, or faulty plumbing. All of these are areas which would have been looked at in an inspection of some Lincoln or Waterloo Ontario real estate and any deficiencies discovered. Instead, a home inspection was passed up and now there is a lot of work to do.

The buyer of the home might think that they have a chance of recouping the costs in the legal battle we mentioned before, but this may not always be the case. Sometimes, courts will find in favour of the previous owner of Oshawa real estate.

And of course, there is always the case of court costs. No matter who wins, both sides will have to spend a significant amount of money if they have to go to court. Money that could have been saved if someone had paid for the costs of a home inspection in the first place.
